Our sunglasses are designed with a universal fit that naturally adapts to most face shapes. All frames provide a standard, balanced fit that feels comfortable and elegant throughout the day.

Fit Types

The fit indicates how much the frame covers your face. All frames share the same size but vary in fit. There are three aesthetic fit options:

  • Slim fit: Small lens front designed for narrower faces, offering an elegant and subtle look. Example: La Villette Rosaire.
  • Standard fit: Balanced lens front ideal for most face shapes, providing a harmonious and versatile style. Example: La Villette Raison.
  • Wide fit: Large lens front perfect for broader faces, delivering bold coverage and a statement look. Example: La Villette Rene.

Fit Types

What is the size?

The frame size of sunglasses is defined by three main measurements: lens width, bridge width, and temple length. These measurements are always listed in this order, in millimetres (e.g., 52 □ 21 - 145). If you already own sunglasses, check the inner temple arm for engraved numbers.

Size Example

For example, the Isabel Bernard La Villette Rosaire sunglasses have:

  • Lens width: 52 mm
  • Bridge width: 21 mm
  • Temple length: 145 mm

How to measure your sunglasses

If your sunglasses do not have these numbers engraved, you can measure them yourself using a ruler or measuring tape. Here’s how:

  • Lens Width: Measure horizontally across the widest part of one lens (excluding the frame).
  • Lens Height: Measure vertically from the highest point to the lowest point of the lens.
  • Bridge Width: Measure the distance between the two lenses at the part that sits on your nose (the narrowest point).
  • Temple Length: Measure from the hinge where the temple arm connects to the frame, along the arm to the tip that rests behind your ear.
  • Frame Width: Measure the total horizontal width of the frame from outer edge to outer edge.

Measure Your Face with the Credit Card Method

If you don’t already own sunglasses with these measurements, you can easily measure your face using a credit card, bank card, or loyalty card.

  1. Step 1: Take a credit card, bank card or other card.
  2. Step 2: Stand in front of a mirror and place the card vertically at the center of your nose.
  3. Step 3: See where the edge of the card lines up:
    • A: Extends past the edge of your eye → Slim size
    • B: Aligns with the edge of your eye → Standard size
    • C: Ends before the edge of your eye → Wide size
